Kunia Wal-Mart; November 2, 2008 (5:30 PM)

Aloha all!

After a glorious dawn over Honolulu, and a wonderful reception at Maui, it was back to O’ahu for a journey into the great West … Ewa west that is. The Kunia Walmart appearance was a trip into the Filipino, local Hawaiian, Japanese and local community. They all were so wonderful with their applause!

The fans began buying Hawaiian Host Chocolate Boxes and CDs even before I began my show! Thank you all for such wonderful support. And thank you Rose for taking time from your busy schedule to support our little mini-tour.

I was a little worried at first about whether we would even have a crowd as I did not see a single poster in the store about the event. I learned later that the Hawaiian Host sales people posted a bunch of posters in the store but some of my fans apparently have been taking the posters as souvenirs!

In any case, we had a really nice size crowd and everyone seemed really happy to hear my music and get some of their Christmas shopping done early! Yikes! Did I just say “Christmas shopping?”

Sonny Kalua’s rendition (on the electric piano) of “Where I Belong” with Kamuela Kimokeo on guitar made some of the fans cheer and whistle and shout at the end. That kind of reaction makes me feel so humbled and good.

In addition to my earlier reports, Hawaiian Host chocolates are now on their way to Sacramento, Ohio, and Las Vegas!

Oh and I heard that one lady in Maui called Hawaiian Host and ordered 200 boxes to be sent as gifts to her family and friends all over the mainland!

A big mahalo to Tracy, Carolyn, Gina and Lynn from Wal-Mart for all their help.
